If you like The Postal Service then you're going to like this song, and Stars itself. They're basically the same band, only Canadian.
"Your Ex-Lover Is Dead" was originally released in 2005(2004 in Canada), but I myself didn't discover it until 2 1/2 years ago. I love it because it's the exact same way I feel when I see a certain someone from my past. It probably describes the feelings of just about every person in the world in regards to relationships of the past. The lyrics are so spot on!
I don't have much else to say about this song, it speaks for itself. Some lyrics for your time:
"It's nothing but time and a face that you lose
I chose to feel it and you couldn't choose
I'll write you a postcard
I'll send you the news
From a house down the road from real love...
Live through this, and you won't look back...
Live through this, and you won't look back...
Live through this, and you won't look back...
There's one thing I want to say, so I'll be brave
You were what I wanted
I gave what I gave
I'm not sorry I met you
I'm not sorry it's over
I'm not sorry there's nothing to save
I'm not sorry there's nothing to save..."
I chose to feel it and you couldn't choose
I'll write you a postcard
I'll send you the news
From a house down the road from real love...
Live through this, and you won't look back...
Live through this, and you won't look back...
Live through this, and you won't look back...
There's one thing I want to say, so I'll be brave
You were what I wanted
I gave what I gave
I'm not sorry I met you
I'm not sorry it's over
I'm not sorry there's nothing to save
I'm not sorry there's nothing to save..."
